Lifting Weights Will NOT Turn You into a Bodybuilder
This one fear may be the biggest limiting factor among women and some men which is holding them back from achieving truly amazing weight loss results.
I know where the idea comes from, but I can assure you that just because you lift weights does not mean you will not turn into a body builder… seriously, no matter how hard you try your genetics will not allow you to look like the guys (and some girls) you see in magazines or on TV. Unless you have a few hours per day to spend preparing your meals, working out intensely, and taking a boatload of supplements you should have no fear. (Not to mention most pro bodybuilders you see are taking anabolic steroids to unnaturally increase muscle growth – most which goes away after discontinued use.)
My last point is that since resistance training is so helpful at burning body fat why not give it a shot and if at any point you feel like you are adding too much muscle you can just stop or cut back a little… I don't see that happening, but at least you can take comfort in the fast that you aren't going to start weight training today and wake up looking like a body builder tomorrow.
Start by adding in 2-3 days per week of resistance training and I know you will enjoy the weight loss, toning, and feel good benefits that come along with this type of working out.
